PrivatePDF privacy policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026
PrivatePDF is a browser extension for editing PDF files. It is built so that your documents stay on your computer.
Your files
PDFs and images you open in PrivatePDF are processed entirely inside your browser, on your device. They are never uploaded, stored on a server, or shared with anyone, including the developer. Files you save go straight to your browser's download folder.
What is stored on your device
PrivatePDF stores the following in your browser's extension storage:
- How many exports you have made, so the free trial and the daily free allowance can work.
- Your license key.
- If you choose "Remember this signature", an image of your signature.
If you are signed into Chrome with sync turned on, Chrome syncs the usage counts and license to your other devices. The saved signature is stored only on this device. Uninstalling the extension removes the local data.
What is sent over the internet
Nothing. The PrivatePDF extension never connects to the internet. License keys are checked on your computer.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Stripe, and the developer never sees your card details. After paying, Stripe sends you to the developer's license page, hosted on Cloudflare. That page asks Stripe whether the purchase was paid, then shows your license key. It doesn't store your purchase or your key. Cloudflare may keep standard request logs, such as IP address and time. The developer can see your purchase in Stripe (for example your email address, if Stripe collects it), as with any online purchase.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. Like the license page, it is hosted on Cloudflare, which may keep standard request logs.
Analytics and tracking
PrivatePDF contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code.
