PrivatePDF

Support

Answers to common questions. Can't find yours? Use the developer contact on the PrivatePDF listing in the Chrome Web Store.

Getting started

After installing, click the PrivatePDF icon in Chrome's toolbar. If you don't see it, click the puzzle-piece icon and pin PrivatePDF. Then drop PDFs or images into the window.

Unlocking Pro

Click Unlock Pro in PrivatePDF and then Buy. After paying, you land on a page with your license key. Copy it, go back to PrivatePDF, paste it under "Already bought?" and click Activate.

Using Pro on another computer

Your key works on all your computers. If you're signed into Chrome with sync turned on, Pro follows you automatically. Otherwise, paste the same key on the other computer.

Lost your license key?

Send us the email address you paid with and roughly when you bought PrivatePDF, and we'll send you a new key. Use the developer contact on the PrivatePDF listing in the Chrome Web Store.

A PDF won't open

PrivatePDF can't open password-protected or encrypted PDFs, including ones that open without a password but restrict editing. Remove the protection in the app that made the PDF, then add it again.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see your card details. For questions about a payment, contact us with the email address you paid with.

Reporting a problem

Tell us what you did, what happened, and your PrivatePDF version (shown under the settings icon in PrivatePDF). Please don't send documents you want to keep private: a description or a screenshot of the error is usually enough.

Privacy

Your files never leave your computer. See the privacy policy for details.
